Five Tips on How You Can Improve Your Adsense Income

Adsense is a great way to make money online but some people just don’t seem to have much luck with it. If you are one of these people you may wonder why some people are so successful with it and yet you just can’t seem to make it work.

The likely reason that these successful people are successful is that they have tweaked and tested their Adsense ads until they got it right. To make a lot of money with Adsense you really need to optimize your website to reach its full potential.

Just a few changes here and there can make a huge difference to the amount of income you make. Here are my top five tips on how you can get the most out of your Adsense websites:

1. Change the color of your Adsense ads; you will be surprised at how a simple color change can increase your click through rate dramatically.

It can work well if you blend your ads with your website. You can do this by having your background and border colors the same as those on your site.

Then try changing the color of the title in your ads to the same color that you are using for the headings on your website. By blending the colors of your ads to match the colors on your website, your ads look much like the rest of your site rather than standing out as ads.

2. Place your ads above the fold on your website. The ‘above the fold’ area is the section of your page that you can see without scrolling down. Not everyone stays on your website and scrolls down your page so if you have ads stuck at the bottom they may not be seen as often as those near the top of the page.

3. Change the size of your ads to see if it makes a difference. The Medium Rectangle and Large Rectangle ad blocks seem to perform the best so if you have room on your site then try one of these sizes. Sometimes it is a matter of trial and error with the sizes until you find what converts best for your website.

4. You want your Adsense ads to relate to the content that is on your website. If you have good quality content that is specific to your niche then Google will place ads appropriate for that niche. By using relevant keywords throughout your content will ensure the right ads appear on your site.

5. Promote, promote and promote your site some more. Promotion is the key to receiving lots of visitors to your site and you need visitors to get clicks on your ads. One mistake that many people make is that they create their website and then move on to the next project.

Then their site just sits there and gathers dust, it isn’t being promoted and therefore doesn’t receive traffic. You need traffic to make an income so don’t neglect your website, keep on promoting it and driving traffic to it.

Try some of these tips and hopefully they can help you to increase your Adsense income. Don’t give up just because your Adsense ads aren’t performing well, just make a few changes and see how much difference that can make.
