Strategic Services One Minute Tip:

Service your customers:

By personalizing your service, you can attract clients ... even in a market full of bigger, richer businesses. Look at your business and ask if it could be any better if you ...

• Send birthday cards to your customers.

• Offer coffee and pastries to them each time they visit your business.

• Learn a key fact about each customer, and make some reference to it each time you see her.

• Offer free classes to regular clients.

• Follow up on a client's problem over the weekend or on a holiday.

• Support customers who are involved in community activities. For instance, if a client has a part in a community theater production, buy tickets and attend.

• Create a free monthly ezine (like this one) to keep in touch with your customers and keep them updated with special offers & events

Power Quotes:

"The greatest form of maturity is at harvest time. This is when we must learn how to reap without complaint if the amounts are small and how to reap without apology if the amounts are big."
Jim Rohn

“I couldn’t wait for success, so I went ahead without it”
- Johnathon Winters

“I discovered a long time ago that if I helped people get what they wanted, I would always get what I wanted and I would never have to worry.”
- Anthony Robbins

10 Ways To Improve Your Customer Service

1. Stay in contact with customers on a regular basis. Offer them a free e-zine subscription. Ask customers if they want to be updated by e-mail when you make changes to your Web site. After every sale, follow-up with the customer to see if they are satisfied with their purchase.

2. Create a customer focus group. Invite ten to twenty of your most loyal customers to meet regularly. They will give you ideas and input on how to improve your customer service. You could pay them, take them out to dinner or give them free products.

3. Make it easy for your customers to navigate on your web site. Have a "FAQ" page on your Web site to explain anything that might confuse your customers. Ask them to fill out an electronic survey to find out how make your web site more customer friendly.

4. Resolve your customers complaints quickly and successfully. Answer all e-mail and phone calls within an hour. If possible, you the owner of the business, personally take care of the problem. This will show your customers you really care about them.

5. Make it easy for your customers to contact you. Offer as many contact methods as possible. Allow customers to contact you by e-mail. Hyperlink your e-mail address so customers won't have to type it. Offer toll free numbers for phone and fax contacts.

6. Make sure employees know and use your customer service policy. Give your employees bonuses or incentives to practice excellent customer service. Tell employees to be flexible with each individual customer, each one has different concerns, needs and wants.

7. Give your customers more than they expect. Send thank you gifts to lifetime customers. E-mail them online greeting cards on holidays or birthdays. Award bonuses to your customers who make a big purchase.

8. Always be polite to your customers. Use the words your welcome, please, and thank you. Be polite to your customers even if they are being irate with you. Always apologize to your customers should you make a mistake. Admit your mistakes quickly and make it up to them in a big way.

9. Reward customers a point for every one dollar they spend. Let's say customers can get a free computer for 300 points. That means customers will spend $300 dollars on your products and services to get enough points to get the free computer.

10. Build strong relationships with your customers. Invite them to company meetings, luncheons, workshops or seminars. Create special events for your customers like parties, barbecue's, dances etc. This will make them feel important when you include them in regular business operations and special events.

Career life planning

When it comes to life planning you will find that it is never done. You will continuously aim for a goal that is going to help you move forward in life and in your career. You will want to make sure that your career planning is done on a regular basis so that you can keep up to date on your goals and as well as your needs and wants. You will find that the average person will take numerous jobs in their lifetime, but they will usually settle down for one company.

It is that one company that will take your career life planning to the max. It is what will make you want to put in the time, as well as, put in the effort to make something out of your career. When your career is all said and done, you want to make sure that you have the money to retire and begin to enjoy your life. It's never too late to start planning, however, the sooner the better for your future.

Here are some tips on how you can keep on top of things. The first tip is that you should make planning your career a yearly thing. You will want to post on the calendar a day that you will set aside and decide everything about your career. You will want to decide if this is right for you and you will want to make sure that, your career goals are still up to date.

When you do this, you will want to map out the path that you have taken within the past yea. This will show you how far you have come and how you are spending your time. It will also show you all the obstacles that you have overcome and it will empower you to push your life further towards the goals that you have planned.

In addition, this is a perfect time for you to reflect on the likes and dislikes, as well as, your needs and wants. You will want to do this so that you know that you are still reaching for clear and wanted goals. You are reaching for goals that you really want to achieve.

There is so much that you can do with your career, however, if it isn't going the way that you have hoped to, then it is time to move on and set new goals. You will find that if you reflect on your career you will be able to find strength from all the hard work that you have already put into your career and you will also be encouraged to work harder for the future. It is important that you make sure that you have control of your own destiny.

Asking For More Responsibilities For Promotion: It's More Than Meets The Eye

Directly going to the human resources manager and asking for a promotion may work for some lucky workers; but more often than not, such a strategy may not be a good approach to climb up the company's hierarchy. As a matter of fact, doing such an act has a better chance of turning your desire to be promoted into a joke. Instead of being tactless about asking for a promotion, a far more effective plan involves asking for more responsibilities.

Your willingness to take on more responsibilities is an indication that you are ready to move up the corporate ladder. It demonstrates, in simple terms, that you are prepared to get out of your comfort zone to achieve more things for your department or the company as a whole. Asking for more responsibilities demonstrates three characteristics that are important for someone who wants to go beyond the rank and file into a leadership position.

Readiness In Acquiring New Skills
Achievers in the corporate arena demonstrate a hunger for new skills and up-to-date knowledge about the functions they perform. Asking for more responsibilities is the single most important means of learning new skills without digging down in your pockets; you don't have to enroll in further schooling nor do you have to invest in books or other literature.

Readiness To Go The Extra Mile
People who go the extra mile are not only good citizens; they are also valued by the companies they are working for. Seeking for more professional responsibilities in the workplace shows your willingness to go the extra mile and hence your suitability of being promoted. Put simply, to get more for your career means you have to do more.

Readiness To Be Creative
Most people working in the office feel that there isn't enough time to do all the things that is asked of them. Now, here you come asking for more responsibilities. What does that make you? Seeking additional responsibilities on top of your current tasks and in the face of seemingly shrinking office hours makes your creativity as an employee evident. Just like the juggler in the circus who never fails to leave the audience enthralled by his tricks, you will surely amaze your boss by being able to shuffle multiple functions at the same time.

Truly, asking for more responsibilities is a time-tested strategy to get you promoted. Remember the next time you knock on your manager's door, don't just let him or her know that you are aiming for a promotion. Make sure you wear your goals on your sleeve by asking for more responsibilities. And be ready for the road to success.

10 Mind Altering Words That Make People Buy

1. Use the word "fast" in your ad. People want fast results, fast delivery, fast ordering, etc. Nowadays, we usually value our time more than our money.

2. Use the word "guaranteed" in your ad. People want to be assured they are not risking their hard earned money buying your product.

3. Use the word "limited" in your ad. People want to own or receive things that are exclusive or rare because they are considered to be more valuable.

4. Use the word "easy/simple" in your ad. People want easy ordering, easy instructions, easy to use, easy payments, etc.

5. Use the word "testimonial" in your ad. People want to see believable proof before they buy your product. It should be reputable and specific proof.

6. Use the word "discount/sale " in your ad. People want to find bargains. They could be rebates, one time sales, percentage offers, get one free offers, etc.

7. Use the word "free" in your ad. People want free incentives before they do business with you. They could be free books, accessories, services, etc.

8. Use the word "you/your" in your ad. People want to know that you are talking them. This'll make them feel important and attract them to read the whole ad.

9. Use the word "important" in your ad. People do not want to miss important information that could effect their life. People will stop and take notice.

10. Use the word "new" in your ad. People want new products or services that will improve their life like new information, tastes, technology, results, etc.

Editor’s Notes & Humour:

Headline Copywriting Tips:

1) How To...

An "How To.." headline grabs your prospect’s attention because it tells their brain they are about to learn something new that could benefit their lifestyle. The headline should get their attention and explain how to get their benefit faster, cheaper, easier, etc.

Example:

"How To Get Out Of Debt In 1 Year Or Less!"

2) Unlock...

An "Unlock..." headline grabs your prospect’s attention because when something is locked-up it's perceived as being more valuable. Your product would of course be the key that will unlock the benefit for them.

Example:

"Unlock The Secrets Of Selling High Ticket Items!"

3) Discover...

A "Discover..." headline grabs your prospect’s attention because it gives your prospects a sense of adventure. It's just like in a story when someone discovers a treasure chest or a lost artifact.

Example:

"Discover 3 Simple Ways To Reduce Your Unwanted Wrinkles!"

4) ...Exposed

An "...Exposed" headline grabs your prospect’s attention because it sounds as if somebody was trying to hide something. Your prospects will want to know what was being covered up and why.

Example:

"Used Car Dealer Sales Tricks Exposed!"

5) ...Explained

An "...Explained" headline grabs your prospect’s attention because it will give them a clear picture of a benefit they may not understand how to get. If there is something you don't understand and it could benefit you, wouldn't you want it explained?

Example:

"Top Search Engine Optimization Strategies Explained!"

6) Breaking News...

A "Breaking News..." headline grabs your prospect’s attention because breaking news usually happens when it's really important and can't wait until the normal news show time. It's usually something major like serve weather, a terrorist attack, war footage, etc. It makes people stop what they're doing and take notice.

Example:

"Breaking News! Scientist Finds Breakthrough Weight Loss Formula!"

7) Inside Secrets...

An "Inside Secrets..." headline grabs your prospect’s attention because your prospects will feel that if they learn more information they'll belong to a select, privileged group of people. It also adds a rareness to your product. Rare is valuable.

Example:

"The Inside Secrets Of Millionaires Under The Age Of 29!"

8) Magic...

A "Magic..." headline grabs your prospect’s attention because almost everyone's fantasy is to have a magic formula or tool that will instantly give them their desired benefits. People want to get their desired benefits with little or no effort.

Example:

"New! A Stain Remover That Works Like Magic!"

9) Finally...

A "Finally..." headline grabs your prospect’s attention because usually people will buy any number of similar products before they get the exact benefit they want. So, when we find that perfect product we are likely to say or think….FINALLY!!!

Example:

"Finally! An Acne Cream That Actually Does What It Says!"

10)...Guaranteed

A "...Guaranteed" headline grabs your prospect’s attention because it tells your prospects there is no harm in reading the rest of my ad and there's no risk. Your prospects will allow themselves to get interested because even if the buy they have nothing to lose. It makes the most unbelievable headline seem believable.

Example:

"10,000 Web Site Visitors In One Month...Guaranteed!"

Charles Sykes, the author of DUMBING DOWN OUR KIDS, provided for high school and college graduates a list of eleven things they did not learn in school.

In his book, he talks about how the feel good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality, and set them up for failure in the real world.

Rule 1.
Life is not fair; get used to it.

Rule 2.
The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3.
You will NOT make 40 thousand dollars a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice president with a car phone, until you earn both.

Rule 4.
If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss. He doesn't have tenure.

Rule 5.
Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger flipping; they called it opportunity.

Rule 6.
If you mess up, it's not your parents fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7.
Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes, and listening to you talk about how cool you are. So, before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parents generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8.
Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life has not. In some schools they have abolished failing grades; they'll give you as many times as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9.
Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off, and Very few employers are interested in helping you find yourself. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10.
Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to Leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11.
Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

Short & sweet

Grandma's age:
Little Johnny asked his grandma how old she was. Grandma answered, "39 and holding." Johnny thought for a moment, and then said, "And how old would you be if you let go?"

Prayers:
The Sunday school teacher asked, "Now, Johnny, tell me, do you say prayers before eating?" "No sir," he replied, "We don't have to. My mom is a good cook!"

The mood ring:
"My husband bought me a mood ring the other day. When I'm in a good mood it turns green. When I'm in a bad mood, it leaves a red mark on his forehead."

Turn-About is Fair:
When my three-year-old son opened the birthday gift from his grandmother, he discovered a water pistol. He squealed with delight and headed for the nearest sink. I was not so pleased.
I turned to my mother and said, "I'm surprised at you. Don't you remember how we used to drive you crazy with water guns?"
My mother smiled and replied..."Oh, I remember."
