EMPLOYMENT HISTORY:
Skills, experience and personal attributes
Communication skills

With over twenty years in education from community courses, secondary and tertiary education (both in public and private sector), I have accumulated vast experience and flexibility over a huge range of client levels.
With my business experience, delivering to clients with additional training needs has further enhanced these skills. I am experienced in training with small groups to mass lectures. I have presented training sessions and lectures at conventions in many countries and experienced with various ethnic characteristics and differences.
I have also worked with disadvantaged and handicapped (physically and mild intellectually) client groups.

I am quite as ease with internal and external liaison, and competent with client and management communication processes.

I have extensive experience working in team environments as well as independently.

PC & Numerical skills

My PC & numerical skills are excellent, gained particularly from my lecturing in business, information technology, graphics and statistics at Monash University.
This has been further enhanced with my use of numerous computer applications in education and business with training in the use of such tools, drawing up budgets, and dealing with company accounts and financials.
I have been using microcomputers since their inception as a general tool and more recently in design and photography.

Planning and organising

Planning and organisational skills have to be mastered when functioning as a course coordinator at tertiary level. Mass lectures may comprise from 50 to 200 students in a group. As a lecturer at this level, you may be responsible for up to four groups (potentially 800 students).
I found it necessary to acquire strong planning and organisational skills to cope with the sheer volume involved in administering such a load. Apart from the lecturing and tutorial work, staffing tutorials, writing and correcting exams and writing and correcting assignments and administering the above required a very structured and efficient system.

In business my planning and organisational skills were further enhanced. New projects were always presenting themselves; staff, contractors, suppliers and alliances with other organisations and other planning and organisational factors were constantly challenging me.

Market knowledge

As I have been in education for many years, I am very familiar with education systems. This experience has been gained through my work in special programs, traineeships, TAFE, university and private enterprise involvement.

Achievement orientation

My work at the major institutes has always been achievement oriented. At every institute I contributed some new initiative with and without directives to further develop the institutes standing in its field of expertise.
These projects resulted in further recognition in the industry as a major contributor, including further revenue for the institute.

Problem solving

I have always considered myself to be resourceful. I can find the solution to any problem – if I don’t have the capacity to solve the problem myself, I will tap into my network or if necessary seek assistance outside my network until the issue is reconciled.

Motivation and energy

I am a highly motivated worker – this is demonstrated by the various initiatives that I have explored and implemented in industry. Part of my reason for working in this industry is to increase performance where appropriate or needed. As for personal work, I continue to exhibit and publish regularly.
